While I haven't had the chance to use yet it certainly seems well thought out. My hope is that I will only need it to help someone else never for my own predicament.
A friend told me about this item and I did some browsing to find out more about the Z drag system. I ended up ordering it shortly after as a “just in case” item to carry on the bike. I spend about half of my riding discovering new trails by myself and having the Z drag as a insurance package onboard brings piece of mind knowing that I have compact mechanical help to get out of trouble and back out of the woods. Once it arrived, I looked it over and it is well built utilizing quality caribeaners. It could also be utilized as a device to pull branch’s (within reason) off the trail that are too hard to move by oneself.
Back when I had my big ktm 950, this system saved me more than a few times. One time in particular....I was in the north ga woods and took a big fall. Bike fell down a hill and went handlebar side down. As in....no way I was picking it up. The z-drag system was deployed and I was able to get the bike back on its tires. There was no way this would have happened and I would have been hitting the big red button on my spot unit (was also out of food and water).
You guys kick ass and keep on keeping on.
Being a bit smaller than the average sized R1200 GSA rider, I purchased the Z Drag to give me a hand when riding solo and/or in slick conditions where I'm unable to get good footing to lift the bike after a spill. Getting familiar with the system in backyard tests alowed me to pull the bike up slopes, drag out of a mud pit, righing after a tipover in the mud pit and it lifted the front end for a tire replacement. Would probably do a good job of clearing fallen timber across the trail as well. Fairly lightweight and more compact than the 8mm rope and pulley system I had from an old sailing dinghy. Won't adventure without it.
Haven’t tested the system in the field yet but did a practice run at home. Solid, well thought out product and good quality. Well worth the price
