I spent about $2200 because I didn't bring along my Green Chile recovery kit. I had one, but it was strapped to another bike when I had a little mishap on the California Lost Coast and went about 150 feet down an embankment as steep as a cows face. Without the recovery kit there was no way to get back on the road, so I had to have a very skilled recovery driver pull me out (1600) and stay an extra day at a nice hotel. Last year on.a local ride I came across a rider in full gear standing in the path. I asked where his bike was and he pointed over the embankment. I rigged up the kit to his africa twin, put the end of the strap over my shoulder and started walking down the embankment while the guy steadied the bike. I thought "something's wrong, this is too easy" and was about to say something just as his bike rolled past me. It felt like I was pulling about 20 pounds.
Great product, but I wish they had a smaller and lighter version for small bikes with limited storage space
I just got back home from a multi day solo BDR trip, last day of trip I got myself into quite a pickle with my Africa Twin, without the Z-Drag I would’ve been absolutely screwed and not home right now sitting in my recliner. It worked incredibly well and it will remain a permanent fixture in my gear setup, I WILL NOT leave home without it now.
