GCAG Z-Drag Recovery System

Simplify self recovery with our quick deploy Z-Drag kit.

It can sap your energy trying to get your bike unstuck. It can also fall in a way that makes it difficult to pick up. The Z-Drag is a common rig to give you a mechanical advantage for reduced pull. The combination of roller cams provides a 4:1 pulling ratio for self recovery and a 5:1 ratio when you have help. A laminated instruction card is included in the bag.

Essential Gear

Being a bit smaller than the average sized R1200 GSA rider, I purchased the Z Drag to give me a hand when riding solo and/or in slick conditions where I'm unable to get good footing to lift the bike after a spill. Getting familiar with the system in backyard tests alowed me to pull the bike up slopes, drag out of a mud pit, righing after a tipover in the mud pit and it lifted the front end for a tire replacement. Would probably do a good job of clearing fallen timber across the trail as well. Fairly lightweight and more compact than the 8mm rope and pulley system I had from an old sailing dinghy. Won't adventure without it.

Solid Kit

Haven’t tested the system in the field yet but did a practice run at home. Solid, well thought out product and good quality. Well worth the price

Z drag system

Haven't tested it yet but it looks like a winner. Took it out of the bag and love how easy it is to set up. Even if I'm never in a situation to need to use it, I'll have piece of mind by having it on my adventures.

Well built and easy to use system.

This recovery system is a back and leg saving machine. It’s takes most of the effort out of lifting a fully loaded adventure bike when it takes a dirt nap and also will pull you out of slippery situations that you may find yourself in. It’s a must have if you plan on riding dirt bikes or adventure bikes solo in the backcountry.....
