GCAG Z-Drag Recovery System

Simplify self recovery with our quick deploy Z-Drag kit.

It can sap your energy trying to get your bike unstuck. It can also fall in a way that makes it difficult to pick up. The Z-Drag is a common rig to give you a mechanical advantage for reduced pull. The combination of roller cams provides a 4:1 pulling ratio for self recovery and a 5:1 ratio when you have help. A laminated instruction card is included in the bag.

  • Quick Deploy - No knowledge of rigging and knot work required. Our Z-Drag comes out of the bag rigged and ready to use.
  • Color Coded - For simple operation.
  • Locking Carabiners - Two climbing rated, locking carabiners for secure attachment.
  • Lightweight - Approx. 3 pounds and small enough to pack on a motorcycle.
  • Strong - Even though its small, its still has a 1000 pound working load.
  • Versatile - With a 74' mainline you will always have enough length to get creative in a tough situation.
  • Multi-Function Bag - The bag features MOLLE compatible webbing on the  outside for external attachment. The bag can also be utilized as a dead man anchor.
  • Storage - Comes in a 1000D Cordura storage bag.
  • Recovery - Can be used for solo recovery or with help from friends.
  • Trail Repairs - Can easily be used to hoist your bike from an overhead support for repairs and maintenance while traveling.
  • Clearing Trails - Move fallen trees out or other obstacles out of the way.
  • Camping - Can be used to hoist a bear bag, act as a ridge line for stringing a tarp, etc.

used this system to recover my dr350 from some deep water after it stalled worked great worth every penny if your out alone

JUST in Case... And a few modifications.

The quality of the Z Drag is there... you can just feel it in the webbing and the stitching. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The only thing that I would change about the package (and I added this to mine) is to add a couple of haul straps with a loop on each end. On a Dual Sport you probably have more room to just wrap the carabiner end (bike end) around the forks. For my adventure bike, I added the haul straps to my bag to get the pull point further out in front of the bike itself, (much like T Dubs Kid does in his video). This lets me hook the straps to the crash bars (or the forks) and be able to pull without crushing the plastics in the process (If I didn't already break them by throwing my bike down a ravine in which case I need the handy capabilities of said Z Drag). Also gives you more hitching options on the anchor end. Overall a great product by GCAG.

Z-drag seems like a great product

I could have used this product last summer... I'll have this ready for next time. Seems like a great product. Very well build and high quality.

Looks good.

Looks good and simple to use. I’m 56 and my GSA 1250 weighs 591 lbs with no gear so I thought I should have it incase. Hope I dont need it!

Pretty Useful.

I've just used my back wheel as a winch to get my bike out but this is still really useful. For example, I used it to unload a dead ATV from a trailer not too long ago. Being able to adjust pull vs reach is a great feature, and being able to hook the whole bag is also great because it makes unpacking and repacking very fast and easy.
